Staff Sgt. Jeremy Vought of Coudersport, Pa. was presented the Major Megan McClung Award during graduation ceremonies for DINFOS’ Public Affairs Qualification Course on Aug. 1.

“The honor goes to that one student who best exemplifies Megan’s can-do spirit and sense of duty,” said Keith Oliver, chairman of the Public Affairs Leadership Department.

“Our faculty chose Jeremy from a bumper crop of 60 field and company grade officers and senior enlisted warriors.”  The presentation was made by Army Maj. Jason Shropshire, PALD’s Associate Chair for Core Curriculum.

Marine PAO Major Megan McClung, a DINFOS graduate and Naval Academy alumnus, was killed in action on Dec. 6, 2006 while escorting news media in Iraq’s Al Anbar Province.
