UPDATE: My friends, It’s with a heavy heart that I inform you that Sarah died last night after a long and courageous battle with cancer. I know she’s in a better place, and even though I’ll miss her terribly I’m happy that she’s no longer suffering. It was a wonderful and joyous 52 years. — Mike Pitts
Thanks to all for their kind wishes and prayers
Note from Mike: Sarah is out of Culpeper Hospital after a week-long stay. She is now in the Golden Living Center in Fredricksburg, Va., undergoing some rehabilitation and physical therapy. Hopefully, the good folks there can get her in shape to come home soon.
Fellow CC’s and friends,
This is to advise you that Sarah is again in the hospital – this time suffering from a urinary tract infection which has sapped her strength and weakened her more than she already was.
As some of you know, she recently had a second Gamma Knife radiation treatment at Universitay of Virginia hospital to remove some additional Melanoma lesions on her brain. The operation appears to have been successful but didn’t do a whole lot for her well being.
She is resting as comfortably as is possible under the circumstances and is receiving the best of care at Culpeper Reginal Hospital in Virginia. It’s been a heluva lousy last four and a half years.
I’m sure it would cheer Sarah up a bit to know that a lot of folks are thinking about her
— S/F Mike Pitts
