The Great Americans.com 2009 Military Videographer Awards seeking entries
Several awards will be given to military videographers who best capture the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform through videos uploaded to GreatAmericans.com.
WHO: Sponsored by Great Americans.com and the GI Film Festival
WHERE: The GI Film Festival is the premier awards venue for independent filmmakers involved in the creation of films that celebrate the heroic stories of the American Armed Forces engaged in the worldwide struggle for liberty. This prestigious film festival is now in its fourth year and will be held in Washington, DC at the Carnegie Institution for Science on May 13-17.
The Great Americans Military Videographer Awards will be presented regardless of whether recipients can personally attend the award ceremony. (Some funding will be available as needed to help cover transportation to and from the award ceremony).
HOW TO ENTER: Military Videographers are encouraged to simply upload their videos to the Great Americans site and to include the tag: GI Film Festival Entry in the description section of the upload process. Adding this tag in the description section will automatically enter the video in the awards consideration process. No other forms or applications are necessary. Full instructions for uploading videos to GA can be found at: http://www.greatamericans.com/videos/7d8a2ab066/how-to-upload-videos-from-gainspiresme
DEADLINE: Award recipients will be chosen on a rolling basis until May 1st, 2009 based on a combination of ratings by visitors to GreatAmericans.com and an independent council of judges.
Great Americans visitors can view videos featuring everyday American heroes submitted by military personnel, military support organizations, veteran’s groups, law enforcement, fire and rescue and NASA. Visitors are invited to join in the Great Americans movement and upload videos, comment and discuss content, or visit an online memorial to American heroes in uniform who have been wounded or lost their lives in the line of duty.
