Stackpole dies, highest ranking PAO in the history of the USMC
Retired Lt. Gen. Henry “Hank” C. Stackpole, a decorated Vietnam combat veteran and Marine Corps legend with deep ties to Hawaii and the Pacific, has died, the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies said. He was 85.
Stackpole served from 1998 to 2005 as president of the center, a Defense Department effort at Fort DeRussy that supports U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s objective of developing professional and personal ties among national security establishments to foster stability in the region.
