O’Neal: Past President and holder of various offices, is laid to rest

Don O’Neal, 1940-2016

Donald M. O’Neal went to be with our lord on Sunday March 6, 2016. He was born on October 2, 1940 to Joseph and Joan O’Neal in Chicago, Illinois. He was a highly decorated United States Marine, of 26 years which included the Purple Heart. Retiring at the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant, after honorably serving his country, he went on to become an executive at two Aerospace companies (Rockwell & Hughes).

In 1982 he married the love of his life Yvette, whom he was with to his last moments. He is proceeded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph O’Neal Jr.  Donald is survived by his wife Yvette O’Neal children Freddie Palmer (wife Cheryl), Natalie O’Neal, Angela McKinney (husband Lawerence), Christine O’Neal, and Julienne O’Neal, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as numerous family and friends.

He was a well loved and respected man, with honor and integrity who will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial service held on Thursday March 17, 2016 at 9:30 AM at Castle Ridge Mortuary with internment to follow at 11:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Donald would have wanted donations to the Leukemia Society.
