Marine, journalist Jim Lehrer dies at age 85

Jim Lehrer, famed journalist and former 2007 BrigGen. Robert L. Denig Sr. Memorial Distinguished Service Award recipient died at his home Jan. 23, 2020.

He was nominated by former USMCCCA Executive Director Jack Paxton who served with Lehrer at Parris Island. He was an infantry officer on Okinawa, edited a camp newspaper at the Parris Island Marine training center in South Carolina and was discharged as a captain in 1959. For more please go here.
