Joe Rosenthal Chapter CC’s were very pleased to share lunch with an active duty Marine sergeant at their monthly meeting August 19th at the Alameda Oakland Yacht Club. Sgt. Jason Starck is presently stationed with  4th Force Recon, Alameda, Ca.

During the initial occupation of Iraq, Sgt Starck was one of our Marines who entered country with General Mattis and remained there for 3 tours of duty, 7 months, 14 months and finally 7 more months. Many thanks from the CC’s to the young, squared away Marine were exchanged. It was a pleasure to listen to CC former Sgt. Ken Goulardt swap Pacific Operation stories from WWII  with the young Marine Iraq Veteran. Needless to say we need more young Marines to visit our meetings and intermingle with our older Veterans. Sgt Starck is considering CC membership and was invited back with other members of his company. We should all thank God and the Corps for these talented Marines who presently defend our country. These young Marines bring out the meaning of Semper Fidelis. Thank you Sgt Starck and every Marine currently wearing the Eagle, Globe and Anchor and also every other member of our Armed Forces.

Joe Rosenthal Chapter USMCCCA meetings are held every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Oakland Alameda Yacht Club, Alameda Ca.  All are welcome to attend.
