Colonel Herman S. “Stacy” Clardy III, who headed DivPA’s community relations branch from 1997-99, has been selected for promotion to brigadier general, the Pentagon announced.

The career infantry officer commanded the 2d Marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom and is currently posted as Director of the Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico.

Stacy is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and served as Marine Officer Instructor for the NROTC Unit at Tulane.  Following his regimental command at Camp Lejeune, he directed community and governmental affairs on Okinawa.

“Like Lieutenant General Hank Stackpole and Colonel Tom Fields before him, Stacy is a distinguished combat leader who let himself be adopted by his new public affairs teammates,”  said former national USMCCCA president, Keith Oliver.  “It’s always good to see one of ‘the good ones’ get picked up – especially when he’s a proven friend of the CCs.”
