Denig Memorial unveiled

Maria O’Leary, left, Chaplain William “Dan” Stallard, BrigGen. Paul J. Kennedy, Director of Public Affairs, Bernice Stavisky and USMCCCA President, Bill Haupfleisch unveil the monument of Brigadier General Robert L. Denig near the Chapel at the National Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, Va., on Nov. 17th, 2012. The memorial was sponsored by donations from the United States Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Association and raised $43,200 to complete the project. Engraved bricks of combat correspondents surround the memorial. The husbands of O’Leary and Stavisky were original members of the Denig’s Demons.
