CC news is a terrible thing to waste.

Open letter to all members from the “staff” at “Now Hear This” and this website. We are in the 21st century. It is time to put down the chisels and rocks and use technology to our advantage. When we receive images of typed material or hard paper copies,  to run  in either forum, it is a GREAT drain (and pain) on our time to prepare them for publication. I am a poor typist at best and prone to many misspellings. (see what I just did there?)

We ABSOLUTELY want to run photos and stories about our members and their chapters but if it takes 3+ hours to retype, clean up, remove halftones, etc…. it probably won’t happen. (Which would be a great loss to our members) We can run scanned images of typed text .. see San Francisco Chapter’s latest minutes. BUT that has many problems. It is difficult to read, cannot be published in the newsletter and cannot be searched, so members cannot find the information they need from such a document.

We recognize there are a great many of our readers who are not Internet savvy. No problem, but there MUST be at least one member of your chapter, or child, or even grandchild who could electronically submit your items (fastest). Even if you just send a “file” of the typed text on a disc by snail mail, that would help.
