CC Alan Ables’ novel in second edition
A second edition of author Alan Ables novel, Tale of the Tape: Two Unlikely Heroes Take Down the Dixie Mafia. The espionage thriller has broken into Amazon’s Top 100 Espionage list several times since its initial release in late 2013.
“Tale of the Tape is built around historical events in the 1980s: CIA-sanctioned drugs-for-guns trade in Central America, a Soviet returned by U.S. authorities to the ship from which he had just escaped and intrigue behind the Republican convention in New Orleans. “Fast-paced action takes the reader from New Orleans to Alaska, DC to a Navy band tour around South America. Acceptance has been more than gratifying. I sense that my readers find my heroes compelling: they’re not spies or special agents, but ordinary people caught in circumstances beyond their control,” Ables said.
Ables, a Navy public affairs officer who served in 1983 with the 22 and 24 MAUs in Beirut, Lebanon, is the spouse of Foundation Treasurer Carol Rees; they reside in South Carolina.
Published by Outskirts Press of Denver, Colorado, Tale of the Tape is available online at outskirtspress.com/taleofthetape/, Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Nook and Kindle editions are also available.
