Behind the lens

Rick Corral, photographer

If you’ve noticed the “Rick Corral” photo credit on DINFOS Marine images on this website, here’s a shot of the guy behind the lens.  Rick is a retired Air Force tech sergeant now assigned to the Public Affairs Leadership Department.

He was the first combat photographer in Kuwait City during Operation Desert Storm and was there to welcome the Marines when Lt. Gen. Walt Boomer and company rolled in, back in the Spring of 1991.

A Phoenix native, Rick also pulled duty in Kosovo and was the public affairs rep during the filming of the Harrison Ford blockbuster, “Air Force One.”  The former firefighter is a USMCCCA affiliate member.  (Frank Urben photo)
