Nominations deadline looms
The deadline for nominating a candidate to the USMCCCA Board of Directors is Friday, May 15. Nominations Chair Chris Whiting has polled the incumbent officers and directors and all but two will seek another term.
Dan Clare and Annita Best have agreed to run for President and Treasurer, respectively. Whiting will again run for Secretary. Vice President Shawn Rhodes declined another term, but former board member Bob Mergle will seek the vice president’s seat.
Three director seats are up for election this coming year. Directors Karen Holliday and Paul Mancuso will both run for another two-year term. However, Director Conner Downey will not seek another term. Life member Bob Bowen has accepted a nomination to the board.
“Although there are enough candidates to fill the vacant seats, I will continue to seek additional nominees with the goal of having an election,” said Whiting. “If you would like to participate in the governing of our Association, or know a good candidate to nominate, I will be accepting nominations for any and all board seats until 8 p.m. on Friday.”
Regular or associate members in good standing are eligible to serve as officers or directors, according to the Association bylaws. Nominations may be made by emailing: Nominations@usmccca.org or gunnywhiting@gmail.com.
