Annita Best

As the daughter of a retired USMC master sergeant, Annita Best doesn’t recall a life outside of the Marine Corps. Born at Camp Pendleton, CA, she moved to the Midwest with her family upon her dad’s retirement and attended Culver Stockton College, receiving degrees in English and Journalism. After short stints at a Phoenix, Arizona advertising agency and a weekly newspaper in Illinois, she joined the USMC in 1986. She served as an aviation supply officer and protocol officer at 2d MAW, Cherry Point, NC. While in the Marine Corps she also received her MBA through Boston University.

After departing active duty, she transitioned to the USMCR where she was able to lateral move into Public Affairs. She worked in Public Affairs until she retired from the USMCR in 2017. Some of the highlights of her career include working various air shows, the Red Bull Global Rally Cross, Marine Weeks Boston and St. Louis, just to mention a few.

Best raised four daughters and now enjoys playing tennis, strength training and hanging out with her chocolate lab. She also works part-time at a new boutique in Atlantic Beach, NC where she works for clothes.

As treasurer for the USMCCCA, Best desires to keep excellent financial records and reports as directed and required.
