Gaddo winner of the General Roy S. Geiger Award

CWO4 Randy Gaddo is winner of the General Roy S. Geiger Award, presented by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation for his January 2013 Leatherneck  article “Living Their History: VMFAT-501 Marines Document F-35B Flying and Maintenance Experiences”.

The General Roy S. Geiger Award was established by Colonel G.F. Robert Hanke, USMCR, in memory of his father, Wing Commander Ralph Hanke, Royal Air Force. It is named for General Geiger, the fifth designated naval aviator in Marine Corps history, who commanded both air and ground units during World War II. This award is given to the author of the best article published during the preceding year in the Marine Corps Gazette in the field of Marine Corps aviation.

Gaddo will recieve this award at the Foundation’s annual Awards Ceremony/dinner on April 26, 2014 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Quantico.
