CC helping filmmaker raise funds

I met Marine Corps Vietnam veteran (1967-71) and filmmaker Chris McIntrye at the Washington, DC, Memorial Day Parade where my daughters participated in the parade with the Spirit of ’45  and a  wreath was laid at the Marine Corps War Memorial just outside of Arlington National Cemetery. His most recent film is “21 and a Wakeup” that “is based on a dozen true stories, most surrounding the final days of the 24th Evacuation Hospital, the last major Army hospital in the south to close as America abandoned Southeast Asia.”

Anne Arundel County Government, located on the scenic Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, Maryland is searching for a highly qualified, experienced Public Information Officer.

The Public Information Officer maintains positive relations between Anne Arundel County and the public while providing the media and public with accurate and timely information relating to public interest.  The Public Information Officer is responsible for media relations, writing and editing press releases and speeches, creating ceremonial documents and correspondence, and special events.  This position is within the County Executive’s Office and reports directly to the County Executive.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:  The NSF Executive Director reports directly to the President and Board of Trustees.

EMPLOYEE STATUS:  FLSA Exempt

NATURE OF WORK:

Serves as the chief administrative official for the National Service Foundation. Supervises and coordinates the goals, tasks and activities of the Foundation staff function to best support current and evolving work demands.  Oversees thrift store operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for all activities.

Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the Foundation staff’s administration function and performance.

Develops the organization’s plans and programs as a tactical partner in evaluating and advising on the impact of long range planning and changes in work requirement for the staff.  Accomplished in coordination with the Human Resources Director and the Finance Director.

Enhances and/or develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Foundation.

Elhbeck: Fla Chapter member Trudy passes

Trudy Ehlbeck, 75, of Port Orange, Florida passed away on May 23, 2013 after a battle with leukemia. Trudy was also a breast cancer survivor. She was a special wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed. Trudy met her husband, Hank while working at Life Magazine and they had been married since 1959. When she wasn’t running a family, Trudy was an avid gardener, having won awards at local garden shows.
