2009 CC Conference set for Hampton, Va – Sept. 14-18
Association President Fred “Flash” Lash has announced that all systems are “good to go” for the 2009 Annual USMCCCA Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hampton, VA September 14-18.
“Especially pleasing is the fact that the senior leadership of Marine Corps public affairs will be joining us again this year,” Flash said. He also said that CCHQ has been informed that the Marketing and Public Affairs Marines from the Marine Corps Recruiting Command will again be in attendance.
Located midway between Colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach the Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina is the only waterfront hotel in Hampton, Virginia. 172 perfectly appointed guestrooms have stunning views of the Chesapeake Bay, Hampton University, Hampton Public Piers, Customs Marina, and the Hampton Historic District.
“Other good news,” Lash said, “is that we are able to offer much lower hotel rates than in our three previous conferences. The Crowne Plaza room rate is $81 per night, which is a bargain in this day and age. Also, our Members-only registration fee is a bargain if members sign up early.”
All guests of the Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina enjoy complimentary parking, wireless Internet access, and business services. Members will be able to enjoy Busch Gardens, the Virginia Air and Space Museum, Water Country USA and much more.
Preliminary plans call for the traditional Welcome Reception Tuesday evening, the Merit Awards Banquet Thursday evening, and a Friday Business Meeting. “Of course this is only a preliminary schedule,” Lash said. “We will be offering various special events, including a wives luncheon.
Special activities are also planned for our younger Marines and members. At press time, Lash said there will be a DJ available each night of the conference in the hospitality suite. “We’re also looking at a karaoke contest night on Wednesday and will be offering prizes for the most talented.
